Member. Simon is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sheffield. He studied at Cambridge and Edinburgh and held postdocs at Melbourne, Strasbourg and Heriot-Watt.
He thinks of himself as a geometer but has worked in quantum knot theory, topological quantum field theory, algebraic geometry and metric space theory. He now often thinks a lot about category theory and is partly responsible for the Catster YouTube videos on category theory.
